We begin with an analysis of what causes war. Remember, this is 20th Century World History so we'll start with the causes of WWI, then move on to WWII.

FYI, Vichy France -- The northern part of France on the WWII map is "German Occupied France." The southern part of France is the "free" part of France, but only in the sense that it was not occupied by Germany. The government, based in Vichy, collaborated with the Nazis so in essence Hitler did "own" all of France. On the map, "Vichy France" is the southern part, German occupied France is the northern part.

Hitler, perhaps the most notorious leader of our day. We continue with a new unit, studying a uniquely 20th century phenomenon of totalitarian dictatorships. We'll evaluate totalitarian dictatorships of Hitler, Mao & Castro (with a little Lenin, Stalin, Mussolini & others mixed in ...).
